Automatic detection of excess height is done by installing a system of detection by infrared sensors in emboquilhamentos entry tunnels. Each system consists of a transmitter and a receiver.
The transmitter emits an infrared beam across the width of the road to the receiver. The latter is designed to give an alarm in case of locking / interruption of the beam by an object that is traveling at a certain speed. After confirming the excess height is a signal available for use by the CCV.
